Ingredients
- 4 slices Rustic Bread (Dave's Wholesome Farmer's Bread)
- 2 tbsp Butter, melted
- Pinch Fresh Thyme, Salt & Pepper, -add to butter-
- 6 oz Red Apple Smoked Gouda Cheese, shredded
- 1/2 Granny Smith Apple, sliced thinly
- Pinch Cinnamon
- 2 tbsp Maple Syrup, Pure
- 1/4 cup Arugula
- 2 tbsp Candied Walnuts, chopped
- 1 sprig Fresh Thyme, chopped
Method of Preparation
Step 1
Brush the herbed butter on one side of each slice of bread.
Step 2
On the unbuttered side of two slices of bread, sprinkle half of the shredded gouda cheese.
Step 3
Evenly arrange the apple slices over the cheese.
Sprinkle cinnamon and drizzle maple syrup over the apple slices.
Step 4
Add a layer of arugula on top of the apples.
Sprinkle the candied walnuts and fresh thyme.
Step 5
Sprinkle the remaining shredded gouda cheese.
Top with the slices of bread, buttered side facing out.
Step 6
Pan sear the sandwiches over medium heat. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Step 7
Before serving, top sandwiches with a drizzle of maple syrup. Enjoy!
